Imphal, October 25: The mother of Nongmaithem Alex (23) of Thong Leikai, Ward No. 5, Kumbi Municipal Council, under Kumbi Assembly Constituency, has appealed to the authorities to deliver justice for her son, who was shot by unidentified gunmen at Saiton Keithel on October 22 evening.
Speaking to the media, Alex’s mother, N. Bineshori, said her son was shot by unknown miscreants and is now fighting for his life. She expressed deep anguish and urged the concerned authorities to take swift and strong action against those involved in the heinous act.
She recounted that on the day of the incident, her son, who works at a local bakery, was at home after completing his duties. Later in the evening, he went to Saiton to watch a music concert where the shooting took place. According to locals, Alex was shot at close range, and the assailants fled immediately after the attack.
Following the incident, a case was registered at Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station.
The injured youth was initially taken to District Hospital, Bishnupur, later referred to JNIMS, and subsequently sent to RIMS Hospital and then to Shija Hospital, Langol, for further treatment and surgical procedures.
Appealing with tears, Alex’s mother pleaded with the government and authorities to deliver justice and bring those responsible for the attack to book.
