Rajya Sabha MP and Titular King of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba, has expressed deep concern over what he described as a growing trend of negative criticism and lack of trust among people living together in the state.
Speaking at a function organised by the Dalit Sahitya Academy, Manipur, as part of its year-long observance of the 134th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Sanajaoba said such attitudes have become a major hurdle to progress.
The MP stressed that instead of celebrating and encouraging individuals who have earned laurels and recognition in their respective fields, society increasingly tends to pull them down with criticism.
“This culture of fault-finding is preventing us from moving forward as a community,” he remarked.
The event was also attended by Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy, New Delhi, National Secretary Dr. Yumnam Mahendrakumar, former Director of Art and Culture Dr. Sobita, and other dignitaries.
