Feb. 14, 2025: In a strong statement, the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President and opposition MLA K. Meghachandra blamed the BJP’s leadership crisis and internal divisions among its legislators for the imposition of President’s Rule in Manipur.
The MPCC President termed the imposition of PR in the state as “the BJP central government coming to the realization of the ground reality” and expressed hope that the PM would break his silence and start addressing the issue.
The MPCC chief stated that now the PM is expected to visit Manipur and address the ongoing crisis since PR has been imposed. However, he also emphasized that President’s Rule is not a democratic process of governance.
“PR is not a process of democratic government; now, the administration has been left to bureaucrats under the ‘Suspended Animation’ period,” he said.
