The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President, Keisam Meghachandra, poured in allegations that the construction of prefabricated houses in Phubala and Saiton in the Bishnupur district was executed without floating any tender and raised the possibility of public loot of hundreds of crores of rupees.
The Congress MLAs this afternoon also submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Manipur and demanded a proper probe on IDPs’ prefabricated houses and asked that the State and Central Government ensure the transfer of all the financial aid of IDPs to their respective bank accounts, instead of transacting through middle persons or other representatives.
They further asked the State of Manipur and the Union of India to ensure a fixed timeline for all the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to be brought back to their original homes in their original districts of Manipur.
