The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW), in collaboration with Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM), Imphal West, organised a one-day awareness programme on “Addressing Obesity, Women’s Health & Wellness” today at Takyel Khongbal Lane No. 13 Community Hall.
Chairperson of MSCW, Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the importance of women’s health in shaping a healthy family and society. Stating that “health is wealth,” she urged women to adopt healthy lifestyle practices and apply the knowledge gained from such programmes in their daily lives.
Member Secretary of MSCW, W. Phajatombi Devi, in her keynote address, spoke about the objectives of the Commission and appealed to women to approach MSCW whenever they face untoward incidents. She added that the awareness programme was held as part of the ongoing Poshan Maah 2025 celebration, aimed at improving knowledge of nutrition and wellness among women.
Resource persons Dr. Changmei S. Ningshen, Proprietor of Dr. Changmei’s Diet Clinic, and Dr. Joybi Heikrujam, Senior Physiotherapist at RIMS, deliberated on topics including “Nutrition and Balanced Diet” and “Health & Wellness.” Women from Takyel Khongbal Lane No. 13 actively participated in the programme.
