The ‘Eikhoi Mayai Kaba Drug Thadoklashi’ campaign continued at P. Namjoklung High School in Swombung, Imphal East district, on January 21, 2026. The ‘Poster Stickers’ Campaign was led by MSF Vice-President Ayekpam Jimba Meitei, along with Assistant Publicity Secretary Maibam Prakash, Assistant Games & Sports Secretary Thounaojam Alex Meitei, and District Committee President Waikhom Sena, along with other volunteers.
During a press briefing at the school, Ayekpam Jimba Meitei highlighted MSF’s ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse in the region. Since the launch of the campaign, MSF has organised various seminars, competitions, protests, rallies, and awareness programmes to address the issue. The organisation is working closely with school students and teachers to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
Ayekpam Jimba noted that despite increased efforts by security forces to curb drug trafficking, the problem persists. He emphasised that more needs to be done to address the issue. The Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF) believes that a collective effort is required to eradicate drug abuse from the region.
In the past, a women’s organisation called ‘Nishabandh’ was established in Manipur to combat drug abuse and related issues. Ayekpam Jimba called for the revival of this organisation in the 21st century, highlighting its importance in the fight against drug abuse. MSF had submitted a memorandum urging educational institutions affiliated with BOSEM, COHSEM, and CBSE to introduce a ‘Drug-Free Commitment Affidavit’ for students in grades 8–12.
The organisation will continue its campaign across Manipur, seeking support from schools, students, local clubs, and the public to promote a drug-free environment.
