The Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) has selected four representatives from the state’s creative community to participate in the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), scheduled from November 20 to 28, 2025, in Goa. The delegates will receive partial sponsorship under the Society’s grant-in-aid for promotional activities.
The chosen participants highlight the range of talent emerging from Manipur’s film and media sector. Filmmaker Alexander Leo Pou is set to pitch his project at Film Bazaar’s Co-Production Market. Journalist Heirangkhongjam Bhavan Meitei, known for his commentary on Manipur’s socio-cultural landscape, will serve as festival correspondent. Joining them are film editor Md. Abul Basir and projectionist L. Sashikanta Singh, both selected for their professional contributions to the local film industry.
The four delegates will share a support amount of Rs. 1 lakh provided by MSFDS, enabling them to attend screenings, industry interactions, and global networking opportunities at IFFI and Film Bazaar.
MSFDS offers such opportunities annually to encourage filmmakers, media practitioners, and cultural journalists to engage with major film platforms. This year’s selections further the Society’s efforts to amplify Manipur’s presence and creative potential on the national stage.
