March 10, 2025 : In a mass drive to curb electricity theft in the state, conducted by Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) across multiple subdivisions, the MSPDCL has filed FIRs against two individual consumers for unauthorized power connection and consumption and disconnected electricity connections for 41 consumers related to power theft.
The department has warned that strict action will be initiated against those involved in unauthorized power consumption, reinforcing its commitment to reducing power losses and ensuring fair electricity distribution.
The drive, led by MSPDCL officers and staff, covered areas including Heingang Awang Leikai, Top Khongnangmakhong, Kakching Ningthou Leikai, Nungei Mukta, Kwakta Ward No. 4, Kumbi, and Keirenphabi, among others.
General Manager (Commercial) Ng. Kirankumar Singh stated that such operations would persist to prevent electricity theft and improve power supply efficiency across Manipur.
