MSPDCL Cracks Down on Power Theft, 32 Arrested and 28 Connections Disconnected

Feb. 6, 2025: In a series of raids against power theft and misuse, the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) apprehended 32 individuals involved in stealing electricity from February 3 to today.

The raids, conducted across various divisions, led to the following arrests: two individuals from IED 3 Division, 16 from IED 4 Division, three from Kangpokpi Division, nine from Bishnupur Division, and one each from Kakching and Thoubal Divisions.

Additionally, 28 electricity connections with outstanding dues were disconnected during the operation.

Ng. Kirankumar, the General Manager (Commercial) of MSPDCL, issued a statement confirming that such drives against power theft will continue, highlighting the company’s commitment to tackling energy misuse and ensuring fair distribution.
