March 4, 2025: Considering the prevailing situation in Manipur, the majority of musical bands in the Valley district of Manipur are not going to accept orders for hiring them to play at the ‘Thabal Chongba’ event during the five-day-long ‘Yaoshang’ festival (Manipur’s version of Holi).
As many as four bands, including sound services, have made the announcement that they won’t be accepting orders to play at the ‘Thabal Chongba’ event and offer an apology to the youths of Manipur, requesting them not to regret the inconvenience in the interest of the state.
‘Thabal Chongba’, one of the popular events during the Yaoshang Festival, is a Manipuri folk musical dance performed during the five-day-long festival, characterized by graceful movements, intricate footwork, and colorful costumes with vibrant music.
