Myanmar Seeks Int’l Humanitarian Aid, India Gets Ready for Assistance

Over 100 are feared dead, and over 50 construction workers in the Chatuchak area of Bangkok are feared trapped after an under-construction building collapsed in the earthquake that hit Myanmar and Thailand.

Min Aung Hlaing rushed to Naypyitaw to take stock of the injured. Those injured can be seen lying at the worst-hit Thapyaygone Market in Naypyitaw.

“We want the international community to give humanitarian aid as soon as possible,” Junta spokesman Zaw Min Tun stated in a report.

A ‘State of Emergency’ has been declared in Myanmar’s six worst-hit areas: Sagaing, Mandalay, Magwe, Shan (East), Naypyitaw, and Bago. Flights have also been canceled at Yangon Airport.

In Bangkok, search operations have begun to find 50 construction workers feared trapped in a collapsed building. The Ministry of Interior has declared Bangkok an Emergency Zone, Traffic Control has issued a No-Fly order for all airports in Thailand, and the Emergency Broadcast Cell has been asked to prepare for an effective public warning.
