Imphal, May 17, 2026: In a significant development amid the ongoing crisis in Manipur, members of the Naga Legislature, including sitting and former legislators as well as a former Member of Parliament, convened a meeting on Sunday to deliberate on the prevailing situation in the state.
The meeting was held at the residence of the Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee (HAC), where leaders held extensive discussions on the unrest that continues to affect normal life in different parts of the state. The gathering focused on the urgency of addressing the prevailing tensions and exploring a sustainable path toward peace and normalcy.
The meeting witnessed the presence of several distinguished current and former leaders, including Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri L. Dikho, HAC Chairman Shri Dinganglung Gangmei, MLA Smt. S. Olish, MLA Shri Awangbow Newmai, MLA Shri Khashim Vashum, MLA Shri Leishiyo Keishing, former Minister Shri Francis Ngajokpa, former Minister Shri D. Korungthang, former MP Shri Mani Charenamei, former MLA Shri Z. Kikhonbou Newmai, and former MLA Shri Samuel Risom.
The leaders reportedly exchanged views on the present situation and stressed the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and communal harmony in the state.
