DEC 26, 2025: To promote creative talent and showcase Naga culture globally, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio announced the launch of the Naga International Studio with celebrated composer A.R. Rahman on Friday.
The initiative is expected to create opportunities for young artists, musicians, filmmakers, and storytellers from Nagaland and the Northeast at large, providing access to professional infrastructure and global exposure without leaving the region.
“Happy to jointly announce the Naga International Studio by Dr A.R. Rahman. It will be a hub for nurturing talent, storytelling, producing world-class music, and creative content inspired by Naga culture. I thank him for recognising the potential of the Naga people and investing in us,” the Nagaland CM posted on X.
Officials noted that the collaboration with A.R. Rahman, known globally for his musical excellence and innovation, could position Nagaland as an emerging creative and cultural hub.
Conceptualised by Dr A.R. Rahman, the studio will feature state-of-the-art recording facilities, a performance auditorium, and supporting creative infrastructure.
The Nagaland CM also welcomed Dr Rahman to his native village, Touphema, in Kohima district, and thanked him for bringing a landmark creative project to Nagaland, noting that the initiative reflects the musician’s deep affection for the Naga people and his commitment to nurturing talent in India’s far-flung regions.
