As a gesture of love and solidarity towards the displaced women affected by the ongoing conflict that began in May 2023, Nahashinggi Khongthang (NK) Kakching organised a special Ningol Chakouba celebration for the women staying at various relief camps in Kakching district on Sunday.
The event was held at Kakching Wairi Kongoi Community Hall, marking a heartwarming occasion to connect and share joy with the women from the relief camps.
The celebration was attended by Superintendent of Police, Kakching, Priyadarshini Laishram (MPS) as the Chief Guest, and by W. Ranabati Devi, Proprietress of Rana Medicos, Imphal; Mohammed Alauddin (Nanao), Chairman of Zam Zam Foundation, Khelakhong; Shamurailatpam Arunkumar Sharma, Advisor of Ideal Youth Association, Kakching Wairi Ward No. 1; Shougaijam Okendra and Mayanglambam Ibotomba, Advisors of Nahashinggi Khongthang Kakching; Shougaijam Jibanchandra, Secretary of United Clubs Organisation Kakching Wairi; Yengkhom Rajendra, President of Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association; Moirangthem Manichandra, Secretary of Youth Union Club Kakching Wairi; and Naorem Kalpana, Convenor of Kakching Apunba Nupi Lup.
The programme was presided over by Rabi Mayanglambam, President of Nahashinggi Khongthang Kakching.
During the Ningol Chakouba celebration, women from the relief camps in the Kakching area were warmly treated to a festive meal and presented with gifts.
Speaking at the event, President Rabi Mayanglambam expressed that the initiative was taken to bring joy and emotional relief to the displaced women, reaffirming the community’s support and unity in these challenging times.
