Thoubal, Dec 23: Manipur State Co-operative Bank (MSCB) Thoubal Branch and Wangjing GPL MPCS Limited joined hands to organize a financial literacy awareness programme and celebrate National Farmers Day at the latter’s office on Tuesday. The event aimed to promote financial inclusion and support farmers in the region.
As part of the programme, altogether 56 farmers, who were the best repayment KCC loanees belonging to MSCB Thoubal Branch, were felicitated with simple gifts.
Of these loanees, 44 were from Primary Agriculture Co-operative Societies (PACS/GPL MPCS Ltd), and 12 were from Farmers Producer Companies/Organizations (FPC/FPO).
MSCB Thoubal officials, including DGM K. Tarakeshwori Devi and Branch Manager N. Rameshwor Singh, emphasized the importance of responsible financial management and encouraged farmers to utilize bank services effectively.
The event saw participation from members of various GPL MPCS Limited across Thoubal district, highlighting the collaborative efforts to empower farmers.
