Thoubal, Dec 13 : A National Lok Adalat was held at the District and Sessions Court Complex Thoubal, Khangabok on Saturday organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal, under the guidance of the Manipur State Legal Services Authority, Imphal.
The Lok Adalat settled a total of 43 cases, including 30 bank recovery cases and 13 other cases, with a total settlement amount of ₹32,41,432. The upfront amount of ₹13,64,800 was paid on the spot.
The Lok Adalat bench was chaired by Nepram Sonykumar, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal, along with members Khoisnam Jeton Meitei, Advocate, and Longjam Bonita Devi, Advocate.
The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal, Kshetrimayum Maheta Devi, appealed to the public to take advantage of the Lok Adalat and settle their bank recovery and court-pending cases amicably.
