National Seminar on Technology and Sustainability Opens at Thambal Marik College

March 12, 2025: The Directorate of Environment & Climate Change, in collaboration with the Institutional Research Committee of Thambal Marik College Oinam and MASTEC, has inaugurated the National Multidisciplinary Seminar titled Emerging Trends in Technology and Sustainability: Perspectives from Environmental Science, Basic Sciences, and Humanities.

The two-day event commenced today at the Conference Hall of Thambal Marik College Oinam.

The seminar was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Kengoo Zuringla, Secretary of Science & Technology and Member Secretary of MASTEC; Retd. Vice-Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University, Prof. N. Rajmuhon; Principal of Thambal Marik College Oinam, Prof. Kh. Mohon; Prof. S. Dorendrajit from the Department of Physics at Manipur University; and Prof. Soibam Jibonkumar, Dean of the School of Human & Environmental Sciences at Manipur University.

The event saw the participation of around 120 delegates from colleges and universities across Manipur.

Research scholars presented their papers, fostering a rich exchange of knowledge and perspectives. The seminar provided a platform for scholars to share their findings in environmental science, physical sciences, and human sciences while encouraging discussions on emerging trends in technology and sustainability.

Dr. Longjam Baleshwar, the Organising Secretary, highlighted the importance of such platforms for sharing innovative ideas and fostering academic discourse aimed at sustainable development.

The seminar has been hailed as a successful initiative to bring together academia and researchers for critical discussions and the exchange of insights on the pressing issues of environmental and technological development in the region.
