National Voters’ Day Celebrated with SVEEP Exhibition, Tree Planting, and Voter Recognition Ceremony

Imphal: Jan 25 : Manipur marked the 15th National Voters’ Day today at the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office in Lamphelpat, Imphal West, with a range of activities aimed at enhancing electoral awareness and encouraging participation.

The event began with the inauguration of a photo exhibition highlighting the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, followed by a tree-planting ceremony.

Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh, as the chief guest, led the gathering in taking the National Voters’ Day oath, stressing the importance of responsible voting to strengthen India’s democracy.

Newly enrolled voters were presented with their Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) and badges, while centenarian voters were honoured for their lifelong participation in the electoral process.

Chief Secretary P.K. Singh emphasised that India’s elections are the largest in the world, highlighting the significant role every voter plays in shaping the country’s future.

This year’s celebrations aimed to further galvanise public participation, ensuring a more vibrant and robust democracy.
