Feb 4, 2026 (IMP): The new NDA leadership team, along with the BJP Legislature Party leader Yumnam Khemchand Singh, has staked claim with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla for the formation of a new popular government in Manipur after their arrival at Imphal Airport.
The new leadership team drove straight to Lok Bhawan from the airport, accompanied by BJP Election Observer of Manipur Tarun Chugh, BJP NE in-charge Sambit Patra, and State President A Sharda Devi, and the formal oath-taking ceremony is to be held today at Lok Bhawan at 6 PM in Imphal.
It is for the first time since the conflict that two Kuki-Zo MLAs, LM Khaute and Ngursanglur Sanate, have marked their first footfall in Imphal. Preparations are also going on at the BJP State Office in Imphal for the reception of the new leadership team.
Imphal Airport witnessed the welcome of NDA legislators by their supporters, and another reception is also being organised at the Manipur BJP Head Office in Nityaipat Chuthek before the oath-taking ceremony at Lok Bhawan.
