New Political Party ‘Leingak’ Launched in Manipur with Motto ‘Service Before Self’

Feb. 2, 2025: A new regional political party, Leingak, was officially launched today at the Manipur Press Club, Imphal, with the motto “Service Before Self.”

The party aims to work for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Manipur while ensuring the protection of the state’s territorial integrity.

Haorungbam Sharat, the party’s president and a former candidate for the Inner Manipur constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, outlined its core ideologies.
He emphasized honesty in governance, sacrifice for the motherland, and a vision for a self-sufficient and prosperous Manipur.

Highlighting the ongoing crisis in Manipur, Sharat compared the present situation to the historical Seven Years’ Devastation, stating that people are unable to move freely within the state and are forced to rely on air transport due to prevailing violence.
He asserted that Leingak was formed to safeguard the interests of Manipur and its people.

He also pointed out that while the BJP governs three northeastern states, several others are successfully run by regional parties.
Calling for a political shift, he urged the people of Manipur to script a new chapter in the state’s history by bringing a regional party to power.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Th. Ramani, president of Nupi Samaj, among others.
