Feb 3, 2025: Yairipok Kekru Gwarok Hills, located in Thoubal district, has a new addition to its list of attractions with the inauguration of a newly constructed tourist destination today.
The event was graced by K. Meghachandra, MLA of Wangkhem Assembly Constituency and President of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee.
The project, which has been developed with a total funding of ₹50 lakh, received a grant of ₹30 lakh from the Tourism Department and an additional ₹20 lakh from the MLA’s Local Area Development Fund.
Speaking to the media, Meghachandra highlighted the facilities offered at the site, including a community hall, kitchen, separate washrooms for men and women, an open-air theater, and other amenities designed to cater to tourists.
Meghachandra appealed to the local community for their support in promoting the site as a major tourist destination.
He also assured the public of future developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing the area’s appeal and making it a more attractive spot for visitors.
