In response to a recent rise in COVID-19 cases, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has enforced a strict ‘No Face Mask, No Entry’ rule across its campus. The move follows the report from the State Health Directorate which confirmed five active COVID cases as of 2 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025.
RIMS authorities have announced that wearing face masks is now mandatory for all — including hospital staff, students, patients, and visitors — as a protective measure. The public is also strongly urged to wear masks in all public spaces to safeguard themselves and prevent further spread of the virus.
This development is part of broader state-level COVID control efforts, including the formation of 19 expert committees under the leadership of Director of Health Services Dr. Chambo Gonmei. These committees are tasked with overseeing prevention, treatment, and surveillance measures across the state.
RIMS has made it clear that no individual will be allowed entry into the campus without a proper face mask, as authorities tighten precautions to ensure the safety of all amid the fresh surge in cases.
