Noney District Mandates Formation of Internal Complaints Committee on Sexual Harassment

Feb. 7, 2025: In compliance with a Supreme Court directive, Noney District has issued an urgent notification requiring all workplaces, government offices, institutions, and private sector units within its jurisdiction to establish Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) for addressing sexual harassment complaints.

Under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, the district administration has set a deadline of February 10, 2025, for the constitution of these committees.

The mandate aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for women employees, ensuring prompt redressal of harassment grievances.

District Officer/District Magistrate Sharath Chandra Arroju emphasized the importance of adherence to Section 4 of the Act, urging all concerned entities to submit signed orders of ICC formation to dcnoneydistrict@gmail.com without delay.

Employers and organizations failing to comply with the directive risk legal consequences under the provisions of the Act.
