NPP Chief Conrad Sangma Interacts with CSO Leaders in Imphal

The National People’s Party (NPP) Chief and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma arrived in Imphal on Thursday for a two-day visit to meet party leaders and various stakeholders, assess the ground situation in the state, and contribute to restoring normalcy.

After his arrival at Imphal Airport, the NPP Chief interacted with CSO leaders from the Manipur Valley in the afternoon. He was received by NPP leaders from the state, including MLAs Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Shanti, Rameshwor, and Loken, along with NPP state leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Y. Joykumar.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Conrad said that his party would assess the current situation in Manipur and explore how the NPP could play a constructive role in restoring peace. He stated that his visit aimed to meet party members, stakeholders, different communities, and the general public to understand, observe, and engage with all sides to move things forward and help bring back normalcy in the state.

The NPP Chief further mentioned that multiple efforts have been made, some of which have yielded results while others are ongoing. He expressed hope that with continued engagement and dialogue, the state would gradually return to normalcy. He reaffirmed that the NPP remains committed to playing a meaningful role in restoring peace and stability in Manipur.
