Manipur Congress Announces New Leadership; Okram Ibobi Singh Appointed MPCC President

The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Thursday announced a new leadership team with immediate effect, marking a major organisational restructuring aimed at strengthening the party in Manipur. The appointments were made by the Hon’ble Congress President, party sources confirmed.

Former Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri Okram Ibobi Singh, has been appointed as the President of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee at a crucial juncture for the party and the state.

According to the official announcement, the newly appointed office bearers are as follows:

President

  • Shri Okram Ibobi Singh

Congress Legislature Party

  • Leader: Shri Keisham Meghachandra
  • Deputy Leader: Shri K. Ranjit Singh

Working Presidents

  • Shri Victor Keishing
  • Shri Manga Vaiphei

Treasurer

  • Shri Md. Fajur Rahim

Campaign Committee

  • Chairperson: Shri Th. Lokeshwar Singh

Election Committee

  • Chairperson: Shri Moirangthem Okendro

Party leaders welcomed the appointments and expressed gratitude to the Congress high command for finalising the leadership with immediate effect. Senior MPCC leaders said the restructuring is intended to enhance organisational efficiency, strengthen grassroots mobilisation, and prepare the party for upcoming political challenges.

The MPCC stated that it is confident the collective leadership will work in unity to reinforce the Congress party’s presence in Manipur and lead people-centric movements with dedication, commitment, and adherence to democratic values.
