Security forces seized a total of 5.016 kg of suspected brown sugar worth Rs 48.7 crore in the international market from Churachandpur district of Manipur on Saturday.
The arrested person has been identified as Samte (32) of Gamgpimual village, Churachandpur district. The contraband items were found concealed in 418 (four hundred and eighteen) soap cases.
Police also seized one car and one mobile phone from his possession. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.
