Tengnoupal, 14 November 2025: A One Day Awareness Programme cum Children’s Day Celebration was organised today by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Tengnoupal at the DC Conference Hall. The event was chaired by Rahul Gupta, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Tengnoupal, and conducted by Darngam Khaling.
DCPO Devavrata Sharma could not attend, but his welcome message and keynote address were shared with the participants, emphasising the importance of child protection and collective community responsibility in safeguarding children’s rights.
The programme featured insightful speeches from Michael Thomas, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and Md. Nazmul Huda, SDO Tengnoupal, who highlighted key issues related to child safety, child rights, and the need for sustained awareness.
As part of the celebration, gifts were distributed to internally displaced children in the district, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony to mark Children’s Day. The event concluded with a closing prayer and refreshments.
DCPU Tengnoupal extended its gratitude to all officials, partners, and participants, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring the welfare, protection, and well-being of children in the district.
