Feb. 18, 2025: In two separate incidents, security forces arrested one person with suspected 24 grams of brown sugar from Churachandpur district, while there are also reports of the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and other items in a search operation from T. Khullen village under New Keithelmanbi PS, Kangpokpi district.
According to police reports, the suspected 24 grams of brown sugar was seized from one person identified as Lamkhogin Dimngel of Kangchup Patjang, Kangpokpi district, while checking at Sangai University, located near Kaparang village, Churachandpur district, on Monday. Police also seized unaccounted cash of Rs. 34,20,000 along with:
- 2 soap cases containing suspected 24 grams of brown sugar
- 3 mobile phones
- One purse containing Aadhaar card, PAN card, and voter ID
- One 4-wheeler vehicle
- One live round of unknown caliber
Meanwhile, in a search operation in and around T. Khullen village, under New Keithelmanbi PS, Kangpokpi district, security forces recovered:
- 1 HK automatic rifle with magazine
- 3 country-made pull mechanism rifles
- 1 single-barrel bolt action rifle
- 1 .32 pistol with magazine
- 1 .22 pistol with magazine
- 1 mortar (Pumpi)
- 5 mortar bombs (Pumpi)
- 1 Kenwood Motorola handset
- 3 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition
- 4 rounds of 9 mm sniper ammunition
