Feb. 16, 2025: Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh today emphasized the need for unity and development in Manipur, stating that individual aspirations should come second to the state’s progress. He made this statement during the inauguration of the newly constructed G+1 Sagolband Youth Development Organisation (SYDO) Club building at Akham Lampak.
The project, constructed at a cost of approximately ₹58 lakhs (inclusive of taxes), aims to address space constraints and promote efficient land use for community and club activities.
MLA RK Imo also highlighted the completion of key projects, including a community hall and a government junior high school at Wahengbam Leikai, which will be inaugurated soon. Additionally, he announced the ongoing construction of the YSSU Club building at Moirang Leirak Nepra Menjor Leikai and a ₹1.28 crore Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) at Nepra Menjor, expected to be ready next month to improve healthcare services.
Reflecting on the challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, the MLA noted the difficulties caused by the absence of a dedicated UPHC, which led residents to seek vaccination at a temporary center in Bijoy Govinda. He assured that a free health camp would be organized soon at the newly inaugurated SYDO Club premises in response to public demand.
He also expressed disappointment over the state’s unstable leadership, urging voters to elect leaders committed to genuine development rather than temporary appeasement. Emphasizing his three-term tenure without seeking ministerial posts, he highlighted Sagolband’s development compared to neighboring constituencies with ministers.
