The United Committee Pallel (UCP) organized a remembrance program at Pallel Maning Leikai Community Hall on Sunday to honor those who lost their lives during the violent conflict that spread to Pallel on September 8, 2023. Floral tributes were offered in memory of the victims, with local clubs and organizations extending their support.
Convenor of UCP, Moirangthem Jiban, noted that since the outbreak of violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities on May 3, 2023, the date has remained a painful reminder for Pallel. He said the annual program was meant to pay homage to those killed, injured, or displaced, while also strengthening the community’s resolve to safeguard the land and its people.
The committee emphasized that the event not only commemorated the sacrifices of the past but also sought to inspire unity, resilience, and determination for future generations.
