The mountain of plastic materials, which is hazardous to both human health and Mother Nature, swept down from the streams of Ithai Dam due to the flood and was all cleared and cleaned by the Khundongbam Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) today.
The major initiatives to clear the mountain of plastic waste were taken by Manipur People’s Army (MPA) 241 and 242 Battalions along with personnel from the training center, over 60 in number. All the items that had been floating in the water and polluting the environment have now been cleared.
The Pambei-led UNLF also appeals to the public to avoid throwing waste plastic materials into rivers and nearby dams for the benefit of the people.
