People Behind PUCL Reports Need Public Apology, Says MP Sanajaoba

Thousands of FIRs have been mooted to be lodged at different police stations located across the valley districts of Manipur along with the people against the reports of the People’s Union of Civil Liberties (PUCL), informed Manipur Rajya Sabha MP Sanajaoba on Wednesday, while speaking with reporters on the sidelines of an event at BJP Manipur State Office.

The MP also informed that he has thought of raising the issue with central leaders, and he would divulge information on further steps later. The MP also expressed that the people behind the report need to issue a public apology to the people.

Manipur MP Maharaja Sanajaoba Leisemba strongly demanded a probe against the reports of the People’s Union of Civil Liberties (PUCL), terming it “totally wrong, one-sided, baseless, and ungrounded,” adding that it fuels the peace process.

Among other things, the reports suggested that the current Manipur conflict is “a state-sponsored war,” and “regardless of which side lit the first match in this conflict, it was the State that not only supplied the matchboxes but deliberately created a context where a match needed to be lit in a dark room full of explosives.”
