Feb 26, 2025: In response to the ongoing seven-day ultimatum from the Governor to surrender weapons, volunteers from Phubala village reportedly surrendered a significant cache of arms and equipment through the Phubala Peace Committee to the District Police of Bishnupur today.
The surrendered items included a country-made sniper rifle with a magazine, a 12-bore pump-action gun, a locally made .32 pistol along with ammunition, tear smoke canisters, HE hand grenades, rifle ammunition, headgear, shoes, bulletproof jackets, iron plates, Baofeng radios, chargers, and an empty magazine.
The surrender event took place in the presence of SP Bishnupur and other senior officers. The initiative aims to encourage others to follow suit and contribute to the ongoing efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
