Imphal, Dec 28: Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Sunday welcomed the Prime Minister’s recognition of three achievers from Manipur during the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat, stating that it reflects the vision of Viksit Bharat and brings pride to the state.
Khemchand said the Prime Minister highlighted the work of Moirangthem Seth for promoting renewable energy through solar power. He also referred to Margaret Ramtharsiem of Churachandpur district for her contribution to the handicrafts sector, where she has created employment for around 50 people. In addition, Chokhone Kricheina J. from Senapati district was acknowledged for her work in handicrafts and allied activities.
Despite the ethnic violence that has affected Manipur since May 3, 2023, the people of the state have continued to work hard and strive for success, Khemchand said, adding that their dedication has now received national recognition.
Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for acknowledging the hard work of the peace-loving people of Manipur, Khemchand said he hoped continued support would be extended to the state in its efforts towards peace, development, and progress.
He further appealed to all 36 communities residing in Manipur to join hands in thanking the Prime Minister for recognising Manipuri achievers and to work collectively towards building the vision of Viksit Bharat while restoring peace and harmony in the state.
