PMJAY Cards Distributed to Older Persons at Meeyamgi Numit in Thoubal

Feb. 1, 2025: “Meeyamgi Numit” (People’s Day) for the month of February was successfully organized by the District Administration Thoubal today at the Counting Hall of the Deputy Commissioner Office Complex in Thoubal.

The District Administration, led by A. Subhash Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, alongside district-level officers, heard various grievances and demands from the public.

Speaking to the media, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the administration is committed to facilitating the benefits of various government schemes and that “Meeyamgi Numit” serves as a platform to meet and address the grievances of the people. He expressed satisfaction over the large turnout and stated that the event has instilled hope among the people, with the government working towards the welfare of the public. He also assured that the administration is committed to resolving issues in collaboration with the concerned departments.

As part of today’s event, PMJAY cards were distributed to individuals above seventy years old after verifying their Aadhaar cards. A total of more than forty PMJAY cards were distributed, including twenty-eight cards for older persons. Additionally, two disability cards were distributed to beneficiaries.

Over 1000 written applications were received today, covering requests for CMHT, pension schemes for widows and the elderly, as well as grievances related to various departments such as PHED, Police, MSPDCL, and others.

More than twenty-five stalls from different departments were set up to address the public’s needs, including the Police, CMO, ICDS, ZEO, MSPDCL, Veterinary, Agriculture, and Fishery departments.

In addition to the Deputy Commissioner, today’s “Meeyamgi Numit” was attended by SP Thoubal Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, ADM B. Lokeshor Sharma, SDO Lilong Arvind Hanglem IAS, SDO Thoubal, high-ranking police officials, and other district-level officers from various departments. They were present to address the grievances of the general public.
