March 22, 2025: Police arrested three individuals from three different proscribed outfits—one each from KCP (PWG), PREPAK, and RPF/PLA—at different locations in Imphal on Friday.
A joint team of Manipur Police and Assam Rifles arrested one active cadre of KCP-PWG, identified as Thangmangjam Naoba Singh (28) alias Pamuba of Mayang Langjing Tamang Awang Leikai, from Mayang Langjing Bazar, Imphal West. According to the police, the arrested person was involved in extortion activities, issuing monetary demands and threats to stone crushers, shops, and the general public in and around Imphal.
The other individuals arrested have been identified as PREPAK cadre Nongthombam Kenedy Meitei alias Heiba (39) of Pourabi Mayai Leikai, Imphal East District, who was apprehended near the Community Hall at Khurai Chingangbam Leikai under Porompat Police Station, and RPF/PLA cadre Laishram Romen Meitei (46) of Uchol Makha Leikai, arrested under Andro Police Station, Imphal East District.
