March 22, 2025: Manipur Police arrested four active cadres of KCP (Apunba), along with its commander, from various locations in Imphal on Friday and also seized firearms, including an INSAS Rifle and a 9 mm Pistol, from their possession.
The arrested commander has been identified as Ningthoujam Chalamba Singh (28) of Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leikai, Imphal East, while the other three, arrested from their respective residences, have been identified as Mutum Jackson Meitei (20) of Lamdeng Thongkhong, Lamsang Ward No. 2; Akoijam Sanjoy Singh (19) of Iroisemba Mayai Leikai; and Nongthombam Gopen Singh (59) of Phumlou Siphai under Lamsang Police Station, Imphal West District.
The items seized by the police include one INSAS Rifle along with one magazine loaded with three rounds, one 9 mm Pistol along with a magazine loaded with two rounds, two air guns, one double-barrel gun, one body part of a Lathode Gun, one defective magazine of an INSAS LMG, one magazine of an SLR Rifle, one defective magazine of a 7.62 LMG (cut into two parts), one Lathode shell, and one tear smoke shell.
