March 27, 2025: Security forces have arrested five members from three underground outfits in the valley areas of Manipur.
According to Manipur Police, two active PREPAK (Pro) members were arrested with a sheet of demand letters of KCP (Red Army) on Tuesday from Top Makha Leikai near Shagolsem Pukhri under Porompat Police Station of Imphal East District. The arrested persons have been identified as Wangkheirakpam Romeo Meitei alias Baruni (44) and Thokchom Nepolian Singh alias Abothe (22).
From Dinku Road, two active members of the RPF/PLA organization were also arrested on Wednesday. They have been identified as Thangam Surankumar Singh (29) alias Achouba alias Ingba and Chingakham Langol Singh. The arrested individuals are directly involved in extortion activities in and around Imphal, police said.
Another KYKL member, identified as Naorem Naren Meitei alias Leishemba alias Irabot (25), was also arrested on Wednesday from Takhel Mamang Leikai near the foothill under Lamlai Police Station of Imphal East District.
