Jan. 28, 2025: In a case related to the incendiarism of three abandoned houses by unknown miscreants near the Mantripukhri Garrison on the night of Jan. 26, Manipur Police have arrested two individuals identified as Rk Mahesh (50 years) and Ishwar Raj (30 years) from Imphal East District.
The fire, which occurred on the night of Jan. 26, was detected by locals and an AR sentry posted near the area at approximately 1725 hours, who alerted the Assam Rifles authorities. The AR QRT (Quick Response Team) stationed within the garrison arrived at the scene, secured the area, and doused the fire.
The local police from Heingang and personnel from the Manipur Fire Brigade also arrived to assist in bringing the fire under control. The collaborative efforts of the Assam Rifles and local authorities stabilized the situation, ensuring no further damage or loss of property occurred.
