Feb 27, 2025 : Manipur Police have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of 19-year-old Laishram Malemnganba Meetei, apprehending Potshangbam Sanahan Meitei (44) from Poirei, Imphal East.
The arrest comes following intensive efforts by the police team probing the incident that occurred on February 10 at Moirang Kampu Awang Lekai, Imphal East.
The victim’s death had sparked public outcry, leading to a vigorous search for the perpetrators.
Earlier, Thangjam Thoungamba Meitei (26) from Tiger Camp, Sagolmang, and Huiningshumbam Poireinganba from Lamboikhul Makha Leikai, Sagolmang, were identified as suspects in the case. While Thangjam Thoungamba Meitei has been apprehended recently, the search continues for Huiningshumbam Poireinganba.
