Manipur Police rescued two persons abducted for a ransom of Rs 10 lakhs and arrested one person involved in the incident from Waithou Pat area in Thoubal district of Manipur on Thursday evening.
The two victims were found confined at a fish farm located at Lilong Dolaithabi, under the jurisdiction of Lilong Police Station in Thoubal district. The accused arrested has been identified as Md. Sultan Ahmed (25) of Lilong Sangomshang Septu Karong.
Police also recovered five live cartridges of DBBL from the fish farm where the victims were kept. Investigation is underway to arrest other persons involved in the abduction, according to police.
