March 27, 2025: In a crackdown against drugs, Manipur Police has apprehended three persons and seized a total of 10.5 kg of suspected heroin.
Police first seized 5.5 kg of suspected heroin and arrested three smugglers on the evening of March 25. Further follow-up action led to the recovery of another 5 kg of contraband drugs from a Bolero vehicle that was abandoned in Imphal East.
Upon checking the vehicle, 419 (four hundred and nineteen) soap cases containing approximately 5 kg of suspected heroin powder were recovered.
The contraband items were concealed or packed in the soap cases, and so far, a total of 880 (eight hundred and eighty) soap cases containing approximately 10.5 kg have been recovered in the crackdown.
