In an initiative aimed at ensuring compliance with Inner Line Permit (ILP) regulations, Manipur Police, under the auspices of the Senapati District Police Task Force, conducted a rigorous verification drive across strategic locations.
Commencing last week, the operation targeted marketplaces, key highways including National Highway-2, and various inter-village routes.
Reports confirm that out of 2,412 individuals scrutinized during this period, 170 were found to lack valid ILP documentation, while 134 were in possession of expired ILP permits.
Swift action ensued as these individuals were promptly escorted to the Mao Gate ILP counter, where they completed the necessary procedures to obtain or renew their ILP passes.
Notably, no instances of illegal immigration were detected during the intensive checks, highlighting the preventive nature of the operation.
Police authorities have affirmed their commitment to maintaining stringent vigilance at border entry points and continuing these efforts in the days ahead, emphasising public compliance with ILP regulations as a crucial aspect of regional security and governance.
