Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam has called on students to pursue both academics and extracurricular activities to cultivate a balanced, well-rounded personality.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the Annual Games and Sports Meet 2025 at Loyola School, Lamlanghupi, she said, “To be good in academics, you don’t have to give up on sports or other activities. We should try to build a well-rounded personality.”
She encouraged students to value sportsmanship and learn from both victory and defeat. “Sometimes you may win or lose, but you must learn to accept both with grace and gratitude,” she remarked, adding that supporting peers and learning from failures are equally important lessons.
The DC urged students to make the most of their school life, emphasizing friendship, teamwork, and good health as essential foundations for success. “Participate in as many activities as possible and stay healthy, because without good health, you cannot study or work effectively,” she said.
As part of the inaugural event, Pooja Elangbam inspected the March Past contingents, lit the torch, and officially declared the Annual Games and Sports Meet 2025 open. The event was attended by the school principal, teachers, parents, and students.
