March 26, 2025: The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) commemorated the 45th Uprising Day of its armed wing, the Red Army, across various locations, including its Central Headquarters (CHQ), General Headquarters (GHQ), 707 Mobile Battalion, Tactical Headquarters (THQ), Base Areas, Transit Camps, and Training Centers.
At the Headquarters (CHQ), the function was attended by its Chairman Interim Council as Chief Guest, Charge-de-Affairs Publicity & Propaganda, along with the Assistant Charge-de-Affairs Publicity & Propaganda as president and chief guest, respectively.
A statement issued by PREPAK’s Department of Publicity and Propaganda highlighted the significance of the day, marking the formation of its armed wing, the Red Army (RA), on March 26, 1980. The event was observed with participation from various units and leaders of the outfit.
The statement said that at the central event at CHQ, the Chairman of the Interim Council stated that it became clearer that all challenges and suffering now faced by the people are due to the decisive policy of India’s divide and rule. It also said that many armed groups, who breed and originate from foreign soil, have been brought into Manipur, being nurtured and working hand in glove with AR and Indian Occupational Forces. He reiterated PREPAK’s commitment to achieving sovereignty and condemned the alleged occupation of Manipur by Indian security forces.
At the GHQ event, the Chief of Army Staff (CAS) addressed the gathering alongside leaders from the Medical and Family Welfare Department and the Finance Department. The CAS paid tribute to past revolutionary leaders with a gun salute and reaffirmed PREPAK’s stand against external influences affecting Manipur’s political landscape.
The Red Army’s 707 Mobile Battalion, in coordination with the NSCN/GPRN, also marked the occasion, with NSCN Chairman Yung Aung participating in the proceedings. PREPAK accused the Indian government of waging a “proxy war” in Manipur and vowed to continue its struggle for sovereignty.
The statement concluded with a call for unity among revolutionary forces and urged the people of Manipur to support the movement.
