The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) [PREPAK (Pro)] today observed the 49th Raising Day of its Red Army, according to a statement issued in the name of its chairman, Longjam Paliba M.
The outfit, while paying tribute to its deceased members and expressing sympathy for those affected by the ongoing unrest, used the occasion to deliver a politically charged message criticizing the state’s leadership and the Government of India.
The release accused the authorities of neglecting the interests of the Meitei community and claimed that Manipur was being transformed into a “land of invaders.”
It further alleged widespread corruption, bureaucratic apathy, and elite competition as causes of what it described as social decay.
The statement, which invoked the concept of “Dharma” as a civic and moral responsibility rather than a religious one, urged unity among the people and called for collective efforts to safeguard society.
It also claimed that misinformation campaigns from mainland media had targeted the Meitei community and criticized what it described as “kakistocratic” governance in the state.
