If the wait for the formation of a new popular government in Manipur is not translated into action within the month of November, then the BJP legislators who are like-minded are likely to stake their claims, projecting Manipur Assembly Speaker Th. Satyabrata Singh as their leader, hinted BJP MLA of Keirao Assembly Constituency L. Rameshwor Meetei to reporters on Thursday while on the sidelines of the inauguration of ‘The Solution,’ a showroom for home appliances and a warehouse in Thoubal district of Manipur.
The MLA also opined that he cannot foresee a good developmental future for the people of the state, especially IDPs, without the reinstatement of a new government, and added that further delay in the formation of a government will only add instability in the state. The event was also attended by Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Th. Satyabrata and MLA K. Robindro, among others.
Sources close to BJP state leaders say they expect central leaders to visit the state before November ends or after. Earlier, a large number of BJP leaders, including former CM N. Biren Singh, also met the National General Secretary, BJP National Spokesperson and NE in-charge, and the Manipur situation is now on the party leadership to arrive at a decision.
