Dec 12, 2025 (IMP): The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, left Imphal, concluding her 2-day-long maiden visit to the state. On her second and final day, the President visited Senapati District and launched various developmental projects worth Rs 1,500 crore, according to reports.
During her visit to Senapati, the President inaugurated several projects, including a model residential school costing Rs 25 crore, two upgraded Primary Health Centres worth Rs 10 crore, and two Bailey bridges constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 11 crore.
President Murmu said the government recognises the aspirations of the people of Manipur and urged everyone to work towards peace and prosperity in the state. She stated that the Government of India is working closely with local leaders, civil society, and communities to ensure development is inclusive and sustainable.
Earlier in the day, the President also visited the Govindajee Temple in the Palace Compound in Imphal and offered prayers. She also paid floral tribute at the Nupi Lan Memorial Complex, commemorating the event of Nupi Lan Numit (86th Women’s War Day).
On the first day of her visit, during the civic reception programme held in Imphal, President Murmu laid the foundation stone for 14 projects worth Rs 1,180 crore and inaugurated 12 projects worth Rs 207 crore under various state government departments at a reception held at the City Convention Centre, Imphal.
