As many as 45 young girls from Meitei, Kuki, and Naga communities came together under one roof—not in protest, but in pursuit of a shared dream of dignity and opportunity.
Each of them will now receive a monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 under ‘Project Pranita’, a joint initiative of the Border Security Force (BSF) and Marriott Group of Hotels.
Flagged off at BSF Sector HQ, Koirengei on July 23 and at Gospel Centenary Hall, Churachandpur on July 24, the project is a pioneering step to empower underprivileged girls from Manipur’s conflict-affected regions through skill development in the hospitality sector.
Under the umbrella of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ mission, the initiative offers a fully sponsored 3-year B.A. in Tourism Studies (IGNOU) along with hands-on training at 5-star Marriott hotels across India.
Selected candidates will also receive free accommodation, meals, uniforms, insurance, paid leave, and guaranteed job placement, opening new doors in a state yearning for peace and progress.
