Feb. 15, 2025: Protest demonstrations continue to be witnessed in Manipur against N. Biren Singh’s resignation and subsequent imposition of PR in the state. In Nongpok Sanjenbam village of Imphal East district, nearly 200 women from the area took part in the protest rally advocating N Biren Singh should continue as Chief Minister.
The protest, held at the Nongpok Sanjenbam Community Hall, saw participants sloganeering, “Remove PR from Manipur” and “This is not the time to remove or resign CM N. Biren Singh.” Demonstrators emphasized that the state’s ongoing turmoil over the past two years demands strong and stable leadership, not political infighting.
The villagers expressed concern over the lack of unity among legislators, who they claimed are more focused on power struggles than addressing the state’s pressing issues. The protest underscored the urgent need for political stability amidst Manipur’s ongoing unrest and firmly opposed any move to unseat Chief Minister N. Biren Singh
